    hey guys,

Im looking for a stock steering wheel for my 72 lesabre. I have a dark brown dash, and medium saddle carpet. I was wondering what would be the right color wheel. My obvious guess would be brown, but Im not even sure if it was an option. I can only find green, standard blue, and black wheels. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Can you get a picture of the steering column color? That is what the color of the wheel should be.. There was a nice deluxe wheel you just missed on ebay....went for $10!!!! WOW!

I think a nice 3-spoke GS wheel would look good in there:Brow:

The interior color you have is called sandalwood. The steering wheel should match the column and dash pad, whose color is called dark sandalwood. HTH

I've also seen the lighter color referred to as covert and the steering column/dash color called dark covert. Those are 72/73 colors, so the regular full size steering wheels should be pretty common. Finding a rally wheel in that color should be like finding a big Buick 3.42 posi differential.

Local yard has a 73 in it. I don't know what color wheel it has. I "think" the wheel is in good condition. Let me know if you find one by Fri 11pm Eastern.

Thanks guys! Another question along the same lines... If I cant find a wheel with the right color, is there any *correct* way of painting one? (My guess would be no, considering the constant contact by the driver) But, it would make things alot easier :) Thanks again guys,

    Matt

You can dye them but don't expect the dye to last a long time.
If you dye it and then use a wheel wrap, it will probably last for a long time.
