Mathieu, try Poston Buick in Atmore AL; 1 800 635 9781. Think they're about $70 a pair. These soft parts just don't last in these Canadian winters! Better to buy new/repro than looking for (probably) nonexistent good used pieces.
I'm not very good in english what is the name for that part and it is the same as the skylark 70-72 ? Thanks Mat
It's called a "Quarter Window Seal", and it's just the rubber seal, and slides in/out from the bottom (soapy water or silicone spray helps). They go for $20-25 US, and are available from several sources: A-1, Metro, Softseal, etc. Check the Buick Parts Directory, at the bottom of the "Body/Sheet Metal" page for links and contact info of some good sources. edit: oh, and no, it's a different part from the Skylarks.
Uh-oh, the chrome trim is glued onto the window, the only place I can think of getting one from is a wrecking yard, and I'm not sure how you'd get it off the glass (without making a mess).
It should come off without too much of a fight. There are guys always parting out 71-73 Rivs here on the board. You should be able to find one easily.
quarter window seals Mathieu, try 69wildcat430 on the board, he's parting a Riv in Jerome ID. I bought the wiper motor out of this one. I have an e mail address for another fellow but the board software won't let me post it (?)
OK, I'll bite...how do you get the chrome off the glass? Before I was shown how to slide the rubber out, I thought I was gonna have to pry the chrome off the glass, and it didn't look like I could do that without breaking something. o No: o No: o No:
It is held on the glass by compression. There is a cork seal that is inside the chrome piece that clamps on the window. Glass shops have a clamp affair that clamps on the window ,and the chrome, and than pulls the chrome piece off. You can accomplish the same thing by tapping it off with a block of wood and a little hammer
When your reassembling the chrome piece - replace the old cork/rubber seal with new material. It protects and seals the front edge of the 1/4 glass. :TU:
When you do find one and put it back on, you might have the great idea to use silicone caulking. (I did) Don't use White Caulk! You can see it since well duh the window is see through, use black or clear.
