I need a set for my 73 Century. These are holding up my project. Does anybody have a set they would be willing to part with.

I have a set I just took out of my GS. I think they came from a big car along with the BB that was swapped in. What do 73's look like? I'll see if I can get a pic. They're your if they'll work for you.

andy, I believe the 73 pad was a stamped steel type. The 68-72 are cast iron. If yours are cast iron they won't work. If you can get a pic up that would be great.

They're stamped steel. Like I said, not sure what they are out of but they weren't correct for my car, someone before me just made them work :af: Pic

I had a 73 I bought off a baord member. He did the 455 conversion himself. He took the 455 out of a 72 Electra, and he used the frame mounts out if it too. They worked well, TA headers fit fine too.

John, Were those pads the cast iron type or were they more like the type in the pic Andy posted.

The stamped steel, not the cast iron.

It was done by a boardmember GSWes.

you must have the frame pads from either a 73-74 century or regal with a 455 in it or the pads wont work, the frame pads from the bigger buicks are to high,3/8 to high.if you want to bolt them on your frame like original you must cut 3/8 out of them for the motor to sit correctly, trust me,i have the larger buick ones in my car and motor tilted to one side and also it tips up to high in the front by schroud.unless you want to weld them to the frame or drill new holes the larger buick ones wont work. let me know when you get them, and tell me how high they are and i can tell you if they are from a big buick,99 percent chance you will have to cut them down. Ray

Andy, Those frame pads worked like a charm, once we figured out which one went on which side. Took two tries to figure it out. Thanks again

Ray, they were the right pads and did not need to be modified.

Its amazing how easy the motor fit with the right stuff, didn't even have to ding the headers.

No fault of yours Andy. The post office was the slow one in this case.

eric did you use new motor mounts,or the old ones from a 455,did you at least measure how high the mounts were from top to bottom.if you were to lay the mounts down on a table measure how high the highest point is,they should be 1 5/8 at the highest point.if they arnt they are from a big buick, air cleaner wont fit and fan will hit the schroud.if yiou can measure the frame mounts please do.they will be either 1 5/8 or 2 inches high.see yah Ray
