Okay, I'm confused, is that a clone? I thought you had a Century? Is it an automatic? Man, that's sharp! It looks like Harvest Gold Poly, the same color as my car, am I correct? Nice ride! Give us all the details...

    vin code T century

a previous owner painted it (it is the correct harvest gold, should have a 1/2 white vinyl top as well as the white stripe) and put the GS and stage1 stuff on it. someday ill get around to painting it and returning it to normal. although im not quite sure what that is-chrome century badges on 1/4s? or vinyl century lettering? cant remember what it should be, im sure there are pics somewhere when i get to it.

Actually it should be "Century" emblems on each front fender (behind the front wheel), a "BUICK" emblem in the middle of the decklid and front of hood, and, I believe, a "Century" emblem on the right of the decklid. I have never seen stripes on a Century, but it's possible, maybe it was an option I'm not familiar with. What's the VIN? 4D37U? Oops, nevermind, I see you already answered that question for me! Sorry. It's a T-code 455, gotcha.

Are you from Ohio, or is that just where the car came from? I live in Columbus and had no idea there was another '73 around that looked like that!

What type of exhaust are you running? Is that a modified T/A Performance system? I didn't think that worked too well on the '73-'77, looks really good though.

    Here's what I noticed in Scott's pics.

In the first two the paint looks so much better than in the last two. I believe this is due to the clean Ohio air the car was sitting in for the first pics. In the seconds set of pics I think the smog really dulls down the shine. :TU: :TU:

I'm think the best bet would be to drive back to Ohio. :Brow:

    I agree!!

Shayne, nothing could be more fun than repeating last years adventures-however-getting my wife and banker to agree to that course of action just isnt in my immediate future!!! as for the other questions-car was for sale at the BPG race in Salem, owned by the wrecking yard owner next door to the track. another board member bought it and didnt like it, sold it to me. I was in Ohio for may and sept Norwalk events as well as bpg event in august. (lived in columbus 1971-1979 and have friends in the car biz there)received this 73 at norwalk in sept and drove it to columbus, my friends graciously kept my cars for me while i flew back and forth. got the car shipped here in november and have been slowly revitalizing things underneath-all the rubber fuel lines front and rear were rotted, all coolant hoses and belts, a/c compressor bearing (it was/is full of R12-just needed a brg.) oil change, etc etc. just now started driving it and enjoying it some. exhaust is 2.5 inch but im not sure what brand-no headers-had 2 chamber flowmasters on it, which have been replaced by dynomaxes. how well does it work in terms of horsepower? have nothing to compare it to so i dont know.

I am sure this belongs in a different section but...

If someone has 2.5" or 3" tail pipes on their '73 PLEASE let me know what brand. Mine has 2.25" and they barely fit and it is hurting my performance. Thanks.

    2.5

eric the 73 we have been discussing here has 2.5, they look similar in material and construction to the TA perf tailpipes on my73, and the car has a ta camas well so im guessing that is what they are. in my opinion the fit is barely acceptable-they touch the springs in some axle movement situations and they hang too low at the rear. ive looked at em a number of times but see no easy correction for these things on this car-the ones on my 72 fit much better.

I met up with Scott at the Corvette/Chub run. Yup, his was the only Buick, my 67 GS 400 (455) was in getting the timing cover replaced, otherwise there would have been two.
Couple of Covairs there, both V8 powered. One had a Buick 215 in it, really nice install/fab job. The other had a 350 small block, I think, mounted mid engine. Again a beautiful engineered and fab job.
Scott's car did, however, get some attention. I noticed several people looking at it and one guy really liked it....AND HE WAS A CHEVY GUY.
Hey Scott, the free donuts were good so it was not a bust, right?

    Toqure Tech?

Well, we are suspossed to be looking for a 73 GS and not talking about our's, but that's OK! :beer :TU:

What do you guys think of putting a 2.5 Toqure Tech system on my 73 GS455?
    Scott- IS ur's an auto?

    auto-yes

it is a t400 and i just ofund the original for sale page that was in the iwndow of the car at salem-it advertises the exhaust as a dyno max system. that may explain the poor fit of the tailpipes. i think the torque tech and ta systems are actually done by the same peop[le and my 73 fits a lot better. of course maybe these are 68-72 tailpies, cause there were not any for 73-anyone know? :3gears:

I think your right Scott, most of those companies only have stuff for the 68-72 systems. Probably are those and not 73 Tailpipes.

I'm gonna use Toqure Tech, with Walker Race Mangum Mufflers?-How do they sound?

Scott- Mine is a TH-400 too. :ball: :ball: :ball: :spank: :blast:
I wish mine was a stick- :3gears: -Like someone's cars, uhm..., lol, just kidding Mike! Are 73's ROCK and Kick A$$. Well as far I know. Can you guys put your 1/4 mile times under the thread in THE BOARD.
    Thanks

    Anthony
