Can anybody out there give me a good description of how these swaybars attach to the control arms?
The earlier bar attaches to the side of the control arm while the later model looks like it would attach to the bottom of the arm.
Does it use a removable insert to attach to the arm or is the piece permanently attached to the arm?
If it is removable is that piece still available anywhere?

The '73 up was also mounted on the side of the arms, with a piece of angle iron. (Insert)
Very easy to make yourself, just need to drill 4 holes in the angle iron.

In belive it was done this way so GM didn't have to box the arms, since the angle iron would give the needed strenght.

On some of the 8.5" rears the bar bolts on the bottom side to a piece that is bolted "inside" the arm. This piece was still available from GM about 3 years ago for B-body cars.
