There once was a time when I really wanted one of these, nowadays, not so much. He's right, the 1974 models are rare compared to their more famous boat-tail predecessors, and while there's nothing wrong with them mechanically, the styling just kind of "fizzled". Still, this looks like a pretty nice original one, and if the owner can be talked down a bit it wouldn't be a bad deal. Hopefully someone who'll care for it will pick it up and it won't get turned into some donk nightmare.

One of those would make a great highway cruiser....I just can't get over the taillights though. Looks like a spacecraft from Star Wars or another 70s space show going away at hyperspeed.

Nice Car. How do you keep the roof of the shelter from caving in when it snows?

I have my Caddy in one of those, and it's under a car cover. Every time it snows I have to go out in the morning and push up the "tarp" from the inside with a broom or shovel to make the snow slide off. If it snows overnight, then I do it in the morning, and after work if it does it during the daytime. It's almost not worth it and would be better just to put a cover on it and let the snow sit on it. But, I rent, and can't build a permanent lean-to on the side of my garage, so it's the best I can do.....

I looked at this in my Buick search. I am a fan of the road less traveled. That’s probably why we like Buick’s in the 1st place.

For me on the + is it’s a GS so it should have the posi rear axle and front and rear sway bars.

On the negative for me is too much red and it does not have bucket seats and console. Sure it only has 93K but I have seen this generation of 74-76 Riviera with less miles in the $4000 range. As soon as this gets 100,000 plus it’s never going up in value.

I think it’s a nice $3500 to $4000 car. It’s been on there a while now and these cars are hot for the guys who want to put 22 inch wheels on them. So considering where he is at I am thinking it is over priced.

The question is in Naperville how do you keep that tent up without the city coming out to fine you and demand it to be taken down?

And those cats are rare for a reason. Rare doesn't always = valuable.....

It's probably under a city code of "temporary" shelter. And yes I agree with you 100% on Rare doesn't mean valuable. I had a 74 Riv GS Stage 1. 20,000 mile original car and in very nice condition. You have to really, really, really like this body style to pay big money for them. Tom

Yeah, the back end of this body style is very "uninspired" imho.

Had one, and yes, it was the finest highway car I've ever driven.
