I have a 78 Skylark S that I use as a daily driver here in Texas for the last 2.5 years. I have had no problems with it at all. My 78 has a 3.8

It was from my 72 GS It was a fiberglass hood I bought from VFN fiberglass. I sold it to a lady in Dallas.

One thing you should know about them is that they get good gas mileage. My '76 century has the 231 V6 oddfire and from experience, it is decent on gas for carrying the heavy body. In a skylark, the 231 should pull really strong and still get good gas mileage. In town I get about 16 miles to the gallon if I don't stomp the accelerator, and about 22 on the highway. And the 2 barell carb. is bad, so it does acceptionally well for the bad carb. and never being rebuilt. :TU:
