    These cars look good in black! I saw this one and the blue one in your thread. Did you pick one of them up?

    No, I first want to wait and see what our government will decide about the road tax exempt laws for old (25+ years) cars.
    Otherwise I will end up paying 3,360.00 Euro / US$ 4,387.34 a year in road tax for a 1975 Electra running on LPG.....:(

    (Our road tax system depends on weight and type of fuel)

    Wasnt it an option is '75 but not in '76? Not sure but thats what i remember reading a long time back.

    But the strike did take away the option of the 455 and enforce the usage of the 350 for some time in '76!

    @bad boattail;

    Thats really sad to hear, i hope it works out in your favour! I was sorry to see the thread with your boat tail's demise, i would freak out if that happened to me!
    Do get a '76! But those figures are HUGE that's more than what the cars worth in most cases!!

    No, I want a 1975 model, they are bigger.
    And I also like the front better, with the indicators in the bumper.

    I keep switching back and forth, well obviously im biased because of what i have.

    But if i were to pick one and buy one i think i would go with a '74 coupe.

    By the way what made the '75 bigger? Arent they both the same and the longest? I imagine it can only be the way the rear bumper is held on to the car. i noticed that the '76 sits higher and more snug to the body than latter years. Am i correct?

    My parents traded their '69 Electra 225 four door ht in on a '76 Electra. They had heard that downsizing was coming and didn't want a 'little' Buick. They special ordered it, silver, black roof, burgandy interior. It was a 225 trim four door, and a low option car with AM radio, power windows, A/C, power trunk release, and little else. Dad had the dealer add the stainless looking trim that bisects the square portholes and runs front to rear. I think because it was base trim it was built without it but Dad liked the pics in the brochure with it. I wish they'd kept it. The '69, too.
