Hello new to Forum just wanted to get some insight. I am building a 46 Chevy Fleetline Aero streetrod, What I did was cut the body off of a 77 Buick Lesabre 2dr shorten and narrow the chassis and used the running gear and chassis from the 77 buick. It has a 77 350 4-barrel with th-350. Can some one give me some tips on how to make some decent horespower with this Buick 350? Everybody says 350 chevy. Nope I love the Buick 350. Just not to familiar with what makes power on the 77 Buick 350. All your input is welcome and appreciated. Thanks Jon:stmad:
You have a very good resource right there in Duluth! Ken and Brian McMillan both race their Buicks. Ken runs a 350 in his 69 GS Calif. Um, I forget his user name here on the board... I'll try to find it and let you know. I may have his email too. Ah yes, email is 69buick@duluth.com
77 350 motor i have the same motor in my 70 skylark i did some porting, put larger valves, a bowl job, new cam and intake, oh yeah and headers man she came alive. now have to get the transmission right:bglasses:
350 if your gonna change the cam you might thing about 020 steel shim head gaskets could raise compression .5 which could give a little more kick dual exhaust, and a 2400 stall really gave my 77 regal a little more kick :TU:
head gaskets i feel ya i shaved my heads .030 to up the compression a little, to help the 212 out. I want to rebuild my transmission before i get a new stall converter but what are the prices for a GOOD STALL CONVERTOR
Jon; Welcome, Any questions you might have on building that 350. Please ask. I have a very nice 1972 buick 350 engine. Built to 1970 specs. On the engine stand. It took my 4000lbs 1972 GS Conv. To a best of 14.6 @ 94 mph. Just send a message, or my brother "Ken" (gscalifornia).
stall converter i have a tci converter and was like 189 from summit and im sure summits brand converters are not expensive(2200 is99 bucks) or i seen "specialty"converters on ebay reasonably priced :TU: andy
