I have an 8.2 10 bolt posi out of a 69 olds 442 it has 2.73 gears. In good shape never had in a car of my own, bought for a project going another route.... everything is tight inside. ready to bolt in. could use some better paint if going in a show car, but perfect for a driver. complete from back plate to back plate. needs new brakes. $650 located near Champaign Illinois Thanks for looking, Tucker
Tucker, put me in line please for a friend, pending pics and a little more info....where located?..thanks Chris
Please put me inline as well for a friend who is restoring his 69 Olds. If you could check date code? Thanks
Sorry for not posting location, I am located near champaign illinois. I have pics available, if you could provide an email adress to send them to. I'll have to check it out again for the date code.
John, the only rearends that a 69 Cutlass/442/HO would have had from the factory is the Olds 12 bolt or the Chevy 12 bolt if built in Canada. No 69's came from the factory with an 8.2 10 bolt. All 68-70 Olds A bodies were this way with no exceptions.
If it came out of a 69 Olds 442 and was the original rearend then its the 12 bolt cover Olds rear. Its a good rear with strength about equal to the corporate 8.5 rear but if something breaks or wears out its verryy hard to get parts for and pricey when can find them.
Thanks Chad, That is what I thought too. I was waiting to hear from Luke. Shelby Chris all yours. I will pass. Thanks
I know it has a ten bolt cover so i must be mistaken that it came out of an olds. I will get the numbers on it and see if someone can id it for me.
Hey, I'm really sorry for taking forever to reply.I've been overloaded at work and I have not yet made it to get the numbers off of the rearend, but as soon as I do I will post them. As for the pics I will send those in just a bit once i am able to upload them from my camera
I'm really wanting to get rid of the rearend as a whole. The casting numbers on the housing are GM59 on one side of the yolk and on the opposite side 3969277NF. The ring gear has the numbers 3910823 stamped on it followed by 15:41 GM I don't know what this might be out of based off of this info if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. The rear gear ratio is 15 teeth on the pinion and 41 on the ring making it 15:41 or 2.73
