800cfm Q-jet needed

    Looking for a good rebuildable 800cfm Q-jet. Will be rebuilding/replating but would like something fairly clean that the throttle still works freely, etc..

    would prefer a 1971 or 1972. "big car" carb is fine I believe the casting numbers are:

    7041240 or 7042240.

    Need one asap. Thanks!!!

    eric i believe i have the stock one off of my 71 centurion 455. ill try and find it tonight, and im in cleveland if you dont mind making a road trip to save on shipping.dan

    well it is currantly mia, but i definatly have the one off of my spare 455, which is a 74, but i know its also a big q-jet. ill keep looking for the 71, i dont remember selling it or getting rid of it.

    I myself would want the 74 Q-jet instead of the 71. The 74 should have them extra squiters up top!

    Q-jet 800 Cfm

    I have acouple 7042240 one I am in the middle of cleaning it now for a rebuild and have a couple more and a real nice one on ebay now and ready to go it was rebuilt by Norman Dihle works great check it out, but have what you want all apart and in good shape I am in Willowick maybe 45 mins from you thanks Dan.

    i found my 71, but it looks like it says 7041540 but that isnt one of the #s you had listed.

    7041540 is a 71 455 carb. 800cfm

    Dan,

    That carb will work for me. Is it in decent shape?? How much do you need for it?

    it worked when i pulled the motor, definatly could use being gone over. accelerator pump hung up a little bit on it. if your coming to get it, how bout $40, or if you would rather me ship it say 50 shipped. let me know if that is out of line. dan
