When I opened the door from the inside, I heard something click, and now my interior drivers door handle doesnt open from the inside. It springs back and forth but does not pull on the latch. Any advice on how to get to the mechanism? Do I have to remove the whole door panel, or just the trim piece around the inside handle? It does still open from the outside, just not the inside.
You’ll need to pull the door panel. Probably the actuator rod came loose from the handle or latch. Patrick
I don’t know; I helped do an El Dorado but it was 25 years ago. I do know that there will be several screws hidden by covers, for sure at the ‘pull’ and in the armrest. Probably plastic Christmas trees around the bottom. Once all that’s loose you’ll need to lift it straight up to get the top out of the window channel. Plus your range of movement will be limited by mirror controls, window and lock switch wiring and speaker wire if you have concert sound. Your best instruction would be a factory service manual. Don’t trust Chiltons; they get stuff like this wrong (nearly destroyed a Honda panel once due to their flawed instructions!). Search for videos and go slowly! Patrick
There may also be plastic clips holding the panel to the door. If, do be careful because they may be unobtainium.
