My 84 t was purchased without the motor, trans or computer. Now that the thing is on the road the digital dash doesnt work, including the gas gage. I have the cell all wired up with the correct cell sending unit, but nothing works. Do you think i just need to find a computer, plug it in and it will all work again?

Mike: I just talked to "Punkin" and he said the gas gauge should work as well as the speedometer (the speedometer does have a cable running to it doesn't it)? The problem you have is you don't know if the dash worked before you removed everything do you? He says the problem with just putting a computer in is what are you going to hook the computer up to ie: you don't have any sensors etc now do you? He has got a digital dash that he just took out and says you can have it if you want it but you need to find out if possible if your dash worked before. One more question, does the dash light up when you apply power to it?

You know, i am not sure if it worked? I will give my buddy a shout since he drove it right before he stripped it of the motor and stuff. When I get home I will check to see what does light up. The trans cable was hooked up, but nothing. The speedo does not light up for sure. The turn signals light up and the bright light indicator... Not sure what else.

Lar, I will get in touch after I take another look at it. P.S. Keep yours, its cool! :TU:

    Thanks

Back in the Turbo V6 days, When I switched from stock ECM to the FA.S.T. system with a stand alone harness, my speedo stopped working but the gas gauge still worked. The odometer worked cause that is working off the speedo cable. But the MPH part of speedo depends on the vehicle speed sensor to translate the signal generated by the cable to the speedo head.

hmm, my speedo doesn't even light up? I have a fuel cell and hooked up the wires to the new sending unit, but it still didn't work.
