    Hi everyone,

Hope to get some info to restore my regal. I need to replace my rear frame rails How much work does this take and do I need to get the body lifted to get this done etc.. I have a line on the frame rails just having a tough time finding a welder that will do it without extreme cost. hopefully someone can fill me in.

    greatly appreciated.

hey, i know it may sound a bit crazy. but most time it is cheaper and easier to replace the whole frame. The best thing is this is a G Body car so you can find many of these cars everywhere. The only bad thing if you can handle doing a job this big. Is not hard just takes a lot of time to get done. you can get a wreck car for about 100-300 bucks. I have done this job before. And having the right amount of time and tools to get the job done is important.

I am in NY so i am not sure if i can help. But I can walk you through it if this is your choice to make. I also have a buddy that did this also plus he add pics to his web site.

www dot faster340 dot com, sorry i am new to this forum and does not let me places link yet. but believe me this is not a spam.

Please look at this whole site. It has alot of info you can use now and later. This is a monte carlo but it falls on the same frame minus very few changes in the years.

    Good Luck

Thank you very much for the info I do not have the time or resources to do a full frame replace. I have a line on some new rails but would like to see if anyone has done it and how they did it or has pictures of it? I was thinking going through the trunk to reach the top of the rails.

    Cheers

ok, i think you are talking about frame horns. This is the part of the frame from Behind the rear wheels to the bumpers. ok i know someone who sell this on ebay. but I know he sells for El Caminos. I know El camino is the same car as G Bodies but this part of the frame is where it has some changes. But it never hurts to ask. I will give you the ebay sellers name. Go to eBay and go to advance search. Look for sellers name is : rareelco10. He is located in Cali. If he does not have them. is ok. You can always get that cheap G Body that other are done with. and cut them off your self. Get a good blade and a saw zaw and have fun :). I would...

First talk to some guys that weld really really good and has done frame work before. Because quality counts here. You're going for a state inspection.
