Does anyone know where to start looking for ground wires to the a/c on a 95 rivvy? It's got the climate control setup. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks :puzzled:

What exactly is the problem? No blower motor operation?

You really need a service manual. The Climate Control is controlled through the BCM (Body Computer Module), I think. Ground wires on late model GM cars are in places you wouldn't even think of looking.

The buick garage said it may be a ground issue. The blower works, as does the compressor itself. It is fully charged, but does not blow cold. I was thinking it may be in that computer. The dealer could find it, at $55.oo an hour and were honest enough to inform me it could take some time. I thought if it may be simple :eek2: I may be able to find the problem!! But knowing these had electronic issues, I didn't want to go to college to learn how to fix it. That could cost as much as letting the dealship fix it :Dou: Thanks

The HVAC doors are controlled by actuators. The actuators incorporate a small electric motor to move the doors. All it takes is one bad one, and there are problems, possibly like the one you describe. I know there are at least 2 actuators, one for each side. Neither side will blow cold?

Larry, I already tried checking for cold air from either side --nothing seems different. Also, my ext. thermometer reads 132 outside and it's 71 degrees. That could be bad on it's own? or could it be tied in somehow? I found a small hose (vacuum?) that was stuck onto a body screw on the firewall, which I believe goes up to the actuator box. Not sure. Gave up for the night. Thanks,Steve

Sounds like the ambient temperature sensor is bad. That's easy to rerplace. My 98 HVAC system is completely electronic, I believe. Don't think it uses vacuum at all. I have a 98 Service manual, but I think the 95's are somewhat different.

  8. sounds like somebody has had thier fingers in it before and did some Mickey Mousing, you might have a real time with it and that might not be the only problem, good luck.
