A/C Box sealant

    what was the sealant or best sealant to use to reseal the ox the the firewall and each half?

    I use duct seal (dum dum) and roll it into a 1/4” bead. Lay it on the edge and slap it together. I’m sure there will be several answers for this, though.

    I agree with Adam that's how I did mine as well.

    I used dum dum but if I was doing it now I would use mortite. You can get it at any big box store. It’s a lot less messy than dum dum and also never hardens. Great stuff

    The only time I’ve ever seen duct seal harden is if it’s been cooking in the sun for 10 years.

    3m Makes a black strip caulking part number 08578.

    Have used this many times.

    I also used 3m strip seal , it stays soft but hold really well

    I may have to give that a shot. Using the duct seal is kind of a pain in the arse having to roll it into 1/4" beads.
