Not sure if this is where to ask this but here goes.

I have now tried three "different" (actually, they are all nearly identical) A/C compressor top brackets on my 1970 455 4bbl manifold. None of them will clear the valve cover or align properly with the rest of the apparatus. On my 1976 intake manifold, which the first bracket came from and the next two are the same, there is a mounting boss that is about 1" high for the A/C bracket. On my '70 the boss is only about 1/8" high and is not located in exactly the same place. I am assuming that there MUST be a bracket that will bolt properly to this manifold without either a big spacer and redrilling the bracket mounting hole. Anyone? :Do No:

I have a ta so this may not be relative, but i had to space mine a little bit. i don't remember what my bracket cam of of. i think i put maybe a 1/4 under the bracket. then it sat nice.

There is a correct bracket that will bolt up right with no spacers. Not sure what all years interchange, though. I would guess 68-71. Then it probably changed with the introduction of the AIR tubes at the intake manifold sides.
