Lesson #1) Sand, while under water, is not stable.

    Umm...You're doing it wrong.

On another board we were just discussing how entertaining it is to sit and watch some people at the boat launch while waiting your turn.
    Hilarity ensues!

Ok, I've been to a lot of beaches, but never anyplace where two tractors could materialize so quickly.

What do they have, tractors in a box you break open for emergencies?

boy does this bring back bad memories. spring 1975 taking a break from u of f to the beach. had a 1974 yellow firebird . we parked parallel to ocean about 40 yds from where it was coming in. proceeded to ingest all things required by 1975 college students all day long when i heard a scream and looked up to see 2 wheels in 6 inches of water. fortunately got 6or 7 sober helpers to get me out before she went to davey jones locker.marty:Dou::Dou::Dou::Dou:

I have a feeling the tractors were there because EVERY DAY some newbie sinks into the ocean there.... I once paid $2300 to get my truck pulled out as well as my bosses truck...

Morons. Have you ever seen what submersion in salt water does to a car or truck? That guy might as well trade it in before it starts to fall apart and labeled a flood vehicle.

As a practical matter, all of those trucks are totaled. There is no practical way to get all of the salt out of the various enclosed spaces where it will go. We had a customer who was backing his Dodge pickup down a boat ramp. He admits that he wasn't paying attention and managed to get the truck in salt water up to the bed. I think that over the next two years we replaced everything that there was to replace in the back half of that truck. He finally traded it on a new one when the floor of the bed disintegrated. I would drive my truck into salt water to save a life, but not to save property.

Good point. It will get into all the body seams. Let alone possibly the drive train components.
I'd trade it in on another vehicle ASAP!

Tractor guy probably has a kiosk next to the guy that rents out beach chairs.

My wife drove her 94 Astro van through a storm serge in the low laying parts of St Pete during one of the tropcal storms we had in 02-03. It sucked water up into the engine and ruined it. The Ins bought a new engine but wouldnt total out the van and evertime we turned around something was breaking or falling apart on that thing. Ins quit paying for repairs. We traded it in on a new van at the same Chevy dealer that did all the Ins work. Never again!
