had to include the supercharged audi R8 ( I think that's correct ) pretty swoopy lookin ! there was a nasty soundin mustang fri and a for sure not stock blue 440 cuda sat but the fri stang i thought might be back and the rain sat kept the cuda mostly trailered then left early .
and stopped at summit on way back - they had a BBB set up with all the edelbrock goodies and an e-brock q-jet . pretty . and worth noting .

Thanks for posting the pics. It's nice to get on here and see stuff like this since I'm unable to attend any shows right now. Gives me a taste of home till I can get back. I have to say this is one of the best forums I've been part of and the only one that I look at on a daily basis. Thanks to everyone and hope to run into some of you when I return to the states.

I have a question, how come some Buick valve covers are painted and some are chrome? Sean

The standard 455 has red painted valve covers while a Stage1 would have came with chrome covers.
Is that what you are referring to?

My 68 GS has chrome valve covers but I always see the painted type. Could this have been a option? Sean

There was an engine "dress up" option that had chrome valve covers and air cleaner lid.

Bruce, Was this offered for all years or for a certain range of years? i.e. 70-72 or 67-69, etc?

From the looks of those machines, I think we need to change our motto from
"Fast with class" to "REAL fast with class"!

I have seen Dealer listings for a chrome dress up kit for '67 but not 68,69. '69 had chrome valve covers for the stage 1 option and those could be ordered separately through the dealer and put on non stage 400/430 engines.

'68 GS's came with a chrome air cleaner lid from the factory. I think the '69 Stage 1 cars also had a chrome air cleaner lid.

All dress up kits were dealer add on's and some were available even before 1967.

I believe '67 valve covers had the wire retainers as part of the valve cover, 68 & 69 did not.

If someone has a factory/dealer part number for the '68 dress up kit please let me know, I have been looking for that information.

pic#1 was catchin my eye - looks just like mine ! except more chrome . i kinda was likin' the '29 , the turbo nailhead in a '66 i think , the purple gs had a nice stance for some reason and of course rod's crazy motor racer was interesting to study .
some really nice cars at show - BUT - i think the car that really piqued my interest was the 88-89 lesabre t-type 2 door with the 95 riv supercharged motor transplant . kinda spanked a mustang friday if i remember correctly ( not really sure what the mustang was running ) and he had some good info on the car saturday at show . he said that the motor went in pretty easy with not much changeover needed , got some aftermarket rockers , cam , maybe injectors and intake etc was a dif "open port" style with some port work maybe . kinda going from memory . him and his girl friend were relaxin , chit chattin , smooth ride . never got a chance to really talk to him .

thats good . i'm sure everyone will rush out , trade their gs455 for a fwd ride ! not really but that was kind of an interesting work up . and maybe more interest on something like that than expected ?
and if someone wants me to e-mail em a pic or two not a problem , just let me know .
