haha, sweet. I got too annoyed with the first video, but the second video is good! Im guessing alot of those guys were surprised.
You mean the truck taking out a t type and a gn? Now you know how the camaro, mustang, and vette guys felt like:Brow:
I have one of these trucks. You can make them to run in the 11's pretty easy. But's it's not the engine mods that cost big bucks; it's the new transmission and torque converter that's a lot of $$$ to stand up to the power. Not to mention u-joints, rearends, etc. It's like anything else. You gotta pay to play. But it is fun stomping a Mustang with a 7,000 lb. truck. I have mine reprogrammed to about 450 HP and 750 lbs. of torque. It actually gets better gas mileage than the factory settings. 22 mpg on the highway. 17 mpg around town. 2005 Chevy 2500HD crew cab long bed Duramax/Allison trans 4x4.
I bought a new 2006 GMC Duramax a few months ago and am thouroughly amazed at what this engine will do. I love it and would only consider driving a Cummins if I didn't have the Duramax option. Have not modified it at all yet as I am enjoying the performance I get with it now, though the diesel performance tech guy that works out of our shop is pushing for an Edge/Juice chip. I have run it around locally and have had some suprisingly good results when I line the thing up against the local 5.0 Mustangs and other import stuff with all the crap hanging off them. Their eyes get big as grapefruit when I pull away and storm down the road like a freight train.
My son will be racing the tow hauler truck at the Texas Buick Nationals... I haven't raced it yet, but I'll be it will beat somebody... maybe even my Wildcat. The seat of the-pants feel is way more impressive than my 06 was... 6.0 VortecMax (advertised 376 HP), 4.10 rear... any guesses as to what it will run?
