I was talking about a few neat things I've built for my shop here they are.... 1] Vice/Grinder Stands made from Semi Truck Brake Drums , you need - 18-20" 2" ID pipe , 24-30" 2" OD Pipe,7/16" nut w/ 1 1/2" bolt , CHEAP 3/4" Box Wrench (you're gonna cut it down ) , 5' of 1 1/2" angle steel , piece of 1/4" Flat Plate Steel for tool base . 3 - 7/16" x 1 1/2" nut/bolts/washers . Cut Angle Steel in 3 18" sections notch a 45* cut bend and weld joint, and weld to 2" ID pipe,drill supports with 1/2" bit and bolt to Brake Drum . Drill 2" ID pipe with a 1/2" bit about 4" from top , weld 7/16" nut to pipe (install bolt into nut with Antisieze to hold ) cut El Cheapo Box Wrench, dress ends up and weld to lock bolt , cut 1/4" plate to shape and center / weld to 2" OD Pipe. You now have a Heavy Duty Grinder / Vice Stand . If you have Pipe Scrap cut several 1" section clean edges and weld to stand ( make a small table or bracket from scrap , Weld pipe sections to this to hold hammers etc . Paint to look purtty . Steve
