    Hey guys,

I've been looking through some old threads and most of them say to use junk valves when polishing the combustion chamber. Does it damage the valve some how? I wouldn't think so but...:Do No:

Another one; I'm planning on putting '69 heads on a '72 block and I'm gonna use the newer lifters and push rods and plug the oil passage in the head; what I'm wondering is if the rockers from 72 will simply bolt on to the earlier heads. Thanks for any help.

Im running '69 heads on a '78 block with TA's roller rockers, so I would say yes, you can use the "late style" shaft and rockers on the '69 heads with no problem:grin: The junk valve trick is so you dont damage the valve seats in the head, when grinding and such, and you wouldnt want to use your new valves for this in case you slip and hit the valve itself. No problem:grin: Also, if you have the engine out and apart, tap the oil feed hole on the drivers side deck of the block and use a tiny hex headed pipe plug thingy, I dont remember what its called:Do No: But doing this will help eliminate any oil weepage from between the deck of the block and head gasket.
