Yesterday a town employee walked by our house picking up the trash that slobs pitch out of their cars. Collier county makes a real effort to keep the place clean. Today the sheriff's department had a crew of "alternative sentence" convicts walking down the road - you guessed it - picking up the practically non-existent trash. We have lots of roads in this large county, don't you think they could have picked a road that hadn't been cleaned the day before? Sheesh!

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

The prisoners involved committed 'white collar crimes', so the prison has to gradually work them back to manual labor. :) They're not used to manual labor.

Typical bureaucratic disorganization. One hand doesn't know what the other is doing.

Definition of bureaucratic for English Language Learners. : using or connected with many complicated rules and ways of doing things : of, relating to, or like a bureaucracy or bureaucrat.

    www.businessdictionary.com/definition/bureaucracy.html

A system of administration distinguished by its (1) clear hierarchy of authority, (2) rigid division of labor, (3) written and inflexible rules, regulations, and procedures, and (4) impersonal relationships. Once instituted, bureaucracies are difficult to dislodge or change.
