I need a rebuild kit for a Carter 4 barrel carb for the 65 Skylark GS. Anyone know where I can get one? Also looking for a distributor vacuum advance diaphram. If anyone can help, I sure would appreciate it.

Guys on e-bay are selling Napa kit2-5053, Carter original 902-317A.
There have been some issues with the Napa accelerator pump... it is original leather and I suggest soaking it prior to installation. The carter kit provides a neoprene cup that has to be mounted on the original pump shaft. Seems to work O.K. once you get it on the shaft.

My local NAPA told me they were no longer available.....but I don't recall the part number.
I did buy 2 kits from the local Car Quest. Had 'em in a day! :TU:

    Also NAPA, Rockauto.com, etc....
    Standard VC24A
    Echlin VC680
    MPE VC1765sb
    Airtex 4V1005
Prices vary, so take your pick!

Napaonline.com also has the distributor shaft bushings, and the bushing for the advance slot....I'll bet you need one of those too.

For Carb kits, Car Quest carries Standard pn 283D, $25
Borg Warner also makes kits, pn 10047A $22

Thanks for all your help guys,.......I got the parts needed, I have the carb off and will commence to the rebuild tonight. I really believe this carb has never been off this engine, it has the original tag on it (although I can't read it very well). I just can't wait to see how well it runs after the rebuild and compare the "before" and "after" scenario. :3gears:
Thanks again and have a GREAT DAY!
