I still love to do burnouts even at my age, but my idea of a burnout is to nail it and go, tires smoking, a little fishtail maybe, a second gear chirp, you get the picture. I never have understood sitting still and spinning the back tires in a puddle of water. Can someone explain to me what that is all about?

Everyone loves a smoke show, but I'm with you. Anyone can do a brake stand. My friend once did an insane tire smoking nightmare of a brake stand with a 66 Fury wagon.

I agree there's nothing like just standing on the pedal and letting the motor do all the work. Besides, I have no relatives in the tire industry. :pp

I was just burning the old tires off before I mounted slicks on them. I love a good hole shot but its fun sometimes to be able to pop the truck 20 minutes later and still have smoke come out.

I hear ya. Sometimes you just need a good smoke show to get that warm fuzzy feeling. :beers2:

My dad never did a brake stand or did a light to light race, or even run down the quarter but he loves to drop it in low and punch it around a turn. :beers2:

only in my dreams have i been able to just stomp on it and road surf for an 1/8th mile. back in reality land the only way to get my lethargic bondo barge to burn rubber was to hold the brake and tromp on it. one day, my 455 is going to be able to do such things.
