Dump run. Figuring what I'm going to do with the carb heat passage in my Nailhead. It runs sh---y during warmup. Another dump run tomorrow. Dinner for friends to whom we sold an acre of land tonight. Breakfast with a friend tomorrow. Try to figure out why my garden tractor quit yesterday.

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

Wife and I picked up our new eye glasses this morning. Off and on rain all day. Really coming down hard right now. No real plans. Seems weekends are either real busy or zip to do.

Seven people in a 22 X 22 house for a long weekend (18 yo grandkids etc) came home with Pat after a 2500 mile round the country, family visit trip. Actually had P&Q for 2 weeks. Now its back to "abnormal". Got about 60% of the electric done in the new shop then insulate and wallboard, then its on to boat stuff for winter. Haulout is 10/10 then winterizing and shrinkwrap... just regular fun stuff. Getting old really sux! ws

    Pouring rain here today.

Was going to run up the Electra today, but thought better of it. Went to my favorite flea-market and came home with a Florentine Silver grosso from 1410, and an Esterbrook dipless inkwell from the 1930s. Filled it up, made a hell of a mess, but it works.

Now to research the Grosso...all while trying to turpentine my fingers...

Yup; - it's pretty much the same size and specification, just that the imagery and the legends are different. I'll post a photo tomorrow when I get sunlight, the artificial light would ruin the detail.

Just finding out that this coin is very rare; - there aren't very many survivors...and yeah, I'm pretty sure it's real. Our area is a melting pot culturally; - it's absolutely incredible what has jumped out of the woodwork here lately. It seems one very high-end and valuable collection was liquidated recently; there's very good medieval stuff turning up in the strangest places. A buddy of mine just sent a Brunswick Doppelthaler to the rarities auction in Berlin; - it's the only one known in private hands, the other is in a museum. He bought it in a restaurant where it was being used as a coaster, apparently the restaurant bought it from a drunk who needed to clear a very expensive tab after a hockey game. Some people have all the luck...

even later, as it's sat nite. tv is turned off. non payment. so here i am. which is a good thing because i just found out the timing is different for my 62 than for a 65, which is the last year my chiltons manual goes back to. so tomorrow i am setting the timing where it is supposed to be, and since it is supposed to stop raining tomorrow, take it out to see if i can get it to overheat again, or if that fixed it. i suspect that will fix it and end months and months of overheating problems and i can finally turn it over to my wife as her daily driver! i'll get my freeloaders off their asses and mow the yard, maybe even take down the kids swing set the daughter and her family left here over two years ago when they moved out. that be my wifes youngest daughter and her 3 kids and husband. now have her oldest daughter, her boyfriend, their kid each, freeloading off me. maybe i can get them to do something for me besides eat my food and sit on their ASSES.:af:

For the late morning and afternoon , I worked on the chain crew for the Samford University vs Wofford University football game.
It was a close back and forth game to the final play. Wofford was threatening to get in field goal range when the clock ran out.
    Samford 28
    Wofford 26
They are in the Southern Conference.
The SEC and the ACC both grew from the Southern Conference.

Tonight , I drove the '39 Rolls (not mine) for a wedding getaway

Like most Saturdays, runs errands, take my wife shopping because she's wheelchair bound and can no longer drive, meet several friends for lunch in the town we grew up in, stop and visit my mom for an hour or so who is now 92 and in assisted living. The plan was to go to a cruise night but it rained all day so that was a bust, so my wife and I went out for pizza instead.

TODAY, however, I'm going to go pick up another Buick 350 I found on craigslist. Another one that he claims ran great but was removed in favor of a 455. This one is also stock with the exception on a TA Stage 1 intake. The price....$200. The last one was $300, also with a TA intake, but that one has a confirmed 59,000 original miles. Not sure what I'll do with them at this point but they just seem like too good of a deal to pass up. I am waiting for TA to release the aluminum heads they've been working on in hopes of making one of these run as strong as my current SBC. So come on guys, hurry it up. You do want to see another SBC removed a Buick, don't you? :)

Each year for the last 11 National Parts Depot (NPD) https://www.npdlink.com/store/pages/ss_gm.html puts on a ALL GM Show. Ive been for the last 5 yrs with the exception of one when the park they use, Silver Springs, transferred ownership from a private family to State of Florida. Friday they do a group cruise to Cedar Key on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Its about a 1.5 hour back road drive. There were 50 -60 cars that participated. I was in the second group to leave. At the drivers meeting it was said that if the guy in front of you deviates from the route DONT follow them. Soooooo Im 5 cars back from the lead and this guy whips into a driveway does a 180 and heads back the wrong direction and of course the next 4 cars do the same. I keep on the route and now become the leader of a 15 car string. Got them there all together. The turn around guys staggered in about 30 mins later. Had lunch. walked around the little fishing village for a few hours and then back to the hotel.

Saturday was the show. There was probably 500 cars. Really good variety of everything GM. some really nice stuff to see. The Riv was selected by participant choice voting as Best Buick. 2 years ago she was picked as Best Full Size 59-70. Im honored! Overall it was a good weekend. Weather was great and the company even better. Later in the day on the way home I found a 40 Buick broke down on the side of I-75. Saw the owner walking on the side of the hwy about 1/2 mile ahead. Picked him up. He said it overheated and shut down. So I took him to a gas station. filled up a bucket of water then back to his car. It wasn't hot and full of coolant. Back down the highway to the gas station, got 2 gals of gas and back to his car.. poured it in. primed the carb on its straight 8, Fired right up. Got him on his way.

Yesterday I worked on the yard all day. I mowed grass, edged the sidewalk, (It would have to be a corner lot.), trimmed hedges, and used the weedeater around the trees. You got to make your house presentable when company is coming later in the week. Come on Hurricane Mathew.... Let's see what kind of a mess you can make! First we were in the "cone." Then we're out, then we're in, then we're out, and now we are back in. Sure wish it would make up it's mind. Mathew was supposed to turn NW yesterday, but 24 hours later and he is still heading west. That puts South Florida more in the center of the cone eventually. I need more beer!!!
Steve... Congratulations on your win!!! Sounds like an awesome day! Cool looking old Buick you stopped to help!
