I'm guessing God doesn't "DO" tests. But then again, I'm a pretty devout agnostic. I'm the guy that the nun's used to pull out of class and take down for a talk with the priest about my attitude. Billy Joel said it best in Only The Good Die Young, I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.
Oh man never doin that again Yeah i tried it and got tackled by a football player. I guess the high school practice field wasn't the brightest place to try it. Especially during practice! I think i will try it somewhere in africa, if i get tackled by a football player there i will be sure something weird is up Patrick
Hey Ken I think this has already been asked but who is the guy in your avitar? I remember it being a boxer. Just figured i'd ask. Patrick
the fellow is wanderlei silva he is the pride middle weight champion he trains with chute box in brazil. very very good fighter all knees and meanness, good ground game too. there are clips of his fights at various places try here http://www.vetleo.com/downloads/Wand x Rampage.zip or go to here http://www.ironlife.com/forum/ you have to join the forum to see highlights, but it is free and there are lots of good mixed martial arts clips. he is not going to eat the baby, that is his son thor.
In my OPINION, God leaves us to some extent to work out some of our own problems the way we see fit. "He" does not necessarily have to intervene at every single event. Maybe karma had it that this "professor" needed to get knocked on his a$$ to realize that "through" this football player, He will knock the professor down. The "God was busy" part was obviously a joke.
I thought about this for a few days and I was gonna try to forget about it, but I can't seem to let it go. The following is my OPINION ONLY. I don't like or appreciate Kens rants, however, I feel there is danger envolved in any story involving God/Jesus/HS that is not true. There have been campaigns lately like "what would Jesus drive" that are plashemy (I cant spelll). These sort of religious speculations are why I left the Catholic church. Creating or molding God to your own image or as a character in a story is not an accurate path to Christian knowledge or salvation. Now again I stress that this is MY OPINION only. I know the story was posted with good intentions. And for sure God uses people for his works. It started with the prophets and the apostles. Look at Paul. God told him straight up "I'm gonna show you how much you will suffer for my name". Being used for Gods purpose is not supposed to be easy. Anyway, I'm starting to go on. I hope I have not stirred trouble here. I don't like Kens posts, but he doesn't hide behind anonymous letters or anything like that. If Ken has a reply I'd like to see it, but afterward would one of you moderators please move my post to the Christian section were it needs to be in case some of the other Christians want to discuss this with me further. Thank you,
I agree, but, I think that the majority of the stories are not true. from my perspective "lordy jesus bless us" posts are rants. if they are in the hell from above forum, fine. but please do not post in the bench area, (where children can read them). christianity is rust on a quaterpanel.
ouch. Is that what you think about any other faith or religion? Faith does not have to be connected to religion. It can be connected to anything. Faith in living, faith in getting the car running before the "big race"... If you don't have faith, how do you live? By no means am I a religious person....by far, but I will NEVER let myself say things like that. Can you elaborate for us? What makes you say such a negative comment?
Adam i have elaborated on why religion is "silly" in a bunch of eairlier posts. i never said i didn't have faith in anything. just not in religions. (how much is the riv $$ up to?) got to go ..
Everyone's entitled to their opinions! oh the Riv is at $800 with 5 days to go:Brow: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2443619498
I agree. :TU: The reason so many christians are thought of as stupid or crazy, is they try to use stupid reasoning to prove a point that can only be understood by faith. I believe in the Bible, as being completely written by God, and infallible (I know, some of you will think I'm nuts, but so be it). I think it's crazy to pollute something that is perfect with your own reasoning. Think of it this way- If God is perfect and has existed for all time and before time (which He claims He is and has in the Bible) why would I, as an imperfect person who has been on the earth 28 years think that my wisdom excedes His? As far as proving to someone who doesn't believe- I think it's a total waste of time. The information is there, and a person decides to accept it, or reject it, and that is their choice. Jesus Himself said "A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign"
Sorry Dan, can't move an individual post to make it into a new thread, but feel free to start a new thread there if you want to.
