hi ya'll name is don and i live in south ga . i have always ran chevys till the early 80's then i put a warmed over 231 v6 in a toyota 4x4 and drove it 90 thou miles. then i built a toyota pu with a very hot 4.1 liter that ran 8.10 in the 1/8th ( you can see the truck on my web page www.accessatc.net/~piggy ).i do my own paint and body and i have a machine shop in my garage ( nope not automotive lol ) , lathes, milling machines etc.
my latest project is a 1961 scout model 80 4x4 , i have had it for some 9 years now and it has had three engines.1st an odd fire v6 with granny low 4 spd,2nd a turbo v6 from a regal with carb same trans , now it has a 350 chevy low hp crate motor and a 700r4 trans. soon to have a 455 with the 700r4 trans ( in machine shop as i type) . i hope to get 500 tq and 400 hp from it with a mild cam ( towing ) and 10 to 1 compression , i will be running a holley 670 cfm tbi on it that is currently on the 350 chevy .

Hi Don - sounds like a neat project !!

I dont know anything about the Holley 670 TBI, but I do know that most 455's like at least an 850 carb....something to keep an eye on.

yep i knew that the 455 likes a bigger carb but i have to go with what my budget allows for now and i have a 670 cfm tbi on the small block chevy i have in the truck now . it has performed well on the 3 diff motors i have had in the thing . 3.8 v6 , 3.8 v6 torbocharged and now the 350 chevy.
i hope to get a commander 950 unit later or possibly go with some kind of port injection , maybe oone like on this web site www.msefi.com
