Again, I appreciate everyones feedback. I intercepted painkiller on the way to NTR to get a couple 15" rallys off him then went to get my radials mounted. After they were mounted we found out one of them had a hole in it. Oh, well. I have a friend near by that might have a couple tires for me to borrow. If not, I'll just be running my street tires. MARK
Wow, Larry you nailed it. What a horrible experience. That was not fun. Well, I mean it was fun but my track times were uuuugly.
Might as well throw another wrench into the gears here. The best drag radial for an everyday tire is the Nitto 555r. They hook as good as the BF Goodrich but not as good as the MT's at the track. On the street they ride and handle great and have no problems with rain. They are also noted for being longer lasting. I have heard a log of horror stories about getting caught in the rain with MT's. A few years ago a guy entered a contest that Car Craft had for street cars. This is the one where a slalom run is part of the competition. The car he entered was a big 2 door Caddy with the 500 inch motor. He ran 11's with the thing, and did well in the slalom to win the competition. He ran the Nitto drag radials on all four wheels for the slalom.
Nice input Doug. I have a spare set of rims now so I would only use the tires at the track. I would just keep my skinny tires on there for street driving and mount the drag tires for the track. I just need to get a pair now.
