I have one that is a little bent on one side. Tell me about hard to find. If you want, I'll take a pic. I bought a '69 today with excellent grill and surround, which I will be using on my '68, even if they are slightly different.

It looks like this is the first thread you've posted asking for this. "Parts Wanted" is always the best place to track down parts that are not reproduced.

Haha sorry but this whole nobody thinks the 68 and 69 cars don't need replacement parts thing is getting old lol. Seems that everything my car needs is not reproduced. If you've got a 70-72 you're good. The surround is good except the mounting locations are all broken and I figured getting a new one would be easier than to repair mine. Sheesh

If you have one I would be extremely grateful and would love to get it from you. Would you be able to post a pic of the surround and the bumper you have? Thanks again.

I don't need a show quality piece, just something that stays in place like its supposed to.

Chris... Gimme a dayer 2 to gather the surround AND rear bumper and post pix... one MAJOR factor to consider is shipping... since Washington is the absolute farthest you can possibly be, ie: caddy-corner across the country from FLORIDA and still be in the continental USA.... SHIPPING MY be a concern...

Im NOT trying to discourage a bumper sale, I'm just sayin' there is a good chance someone could possibly come thru with a bumper much closer to you than Florida... :Brow: gnomesay'n? :TU:

Nevertheless, I will post pix soon...

Yeah, I hear ya on the shipping. The bumper isn't horrible just tweaked a lil on the drivers side. The grille surround is the biggest killer for me. If it wasn't for zip ties it would've fallen off awhile ago.

Thanks Gary, it's just so frustrating at times. Now that I think of it there is another item I was wanting to find. I figured it was pretty much impossible but my steering wheel is all cracked up. I really didn't want to go to an aftermarket wheel. My goal is to keep the car as stock appearing as possible minus wheels and tires. A stock replacement would be amazing. I can post a pic later when I'm home to show what I have now. Its a 3 spoke with the horn button in the longer fatter vertical center spoke. The interior is blue and so is the wheel.

Chris, I will have an extra steering wheel available this spring. I currently have 3 different wheels. On my 68 now is a "restored/repaired" 68 sim wood wheel. I also purchased a very nice 68 reproduction wheel last fall from OPGI. By far the nicest repro 68 wheel I've had in my hands. And I just acquired an original condition simulated wood wheel. I'm planning on selling either the repaired wheel, or the reproduction. If you might be interested in either, I'll see what I can do about getting you some pics.

No idea, I got it probably 3rd hand. It does not quite appear as original anymore, but is still nice.

Chris, this is an original I used to own, but it has significant cracks, as many of do after years of hot/cold:

Thank you I would really be interested. Either would be good for me rather than the mess I have now.

Don, if you're referring to the very nice wheel I posted, I believe that is an original unrepaired wheel, but not mine.

The OPGI reproduction (P/N C990191) retails for $304. The original (but repaired) wheel I have would be much less than that. For whichever one, you'd also need to source a 68 horn cap. They are around, but not plentiful by any means. I've been thru 3 in 5 years, upgrading when the opportunity arose. I'll need to assess my situation and figure out which wheel I'd want to keep. One will be used mainly for getting my car into unheated winter storage every Oct. I won't leave my nice original in unheated storage, as it already has some very small cracking.

Hey, thats my wheel:laugh: Nice, but not perfect :TU:

I also take it off every winter to prevent any cracking :TU:

All that yanking on and off over the years has taken it's toll. You can ship to me since we don't have winters. :TU::grin:

Chris, here's a pic of my new reproduction wheel, and the original unrestored wheel I just picked up. The repro is slightly lighter in color. I don't have a pic of the repaired wheel at the moment.
