ac evaporator box

    is it possible to replace the right side of the box(part without the blower motor)with the motor still in the car?the engine is a 455.

    Yes, but expect to take a lot of time. You will need sealent to seal the two halves together and to the firewall. I like to use windshield butyl seal as a sealer. You can get a 15 ft roll at Autozone. I get the 3/8" diameter.

    Forgot to mention, you will need to roll it between your fingers to get the diameter to 3/16-1/4"

    See thread about DIY projects you hate to do... This will try all of your patience and I suggest if possible,remove hood for better lighting as well as more room.It isn't going to be a 10 minute job,but patience will help you get there. George is correct about the butyl too. Good Luck.

    i tried to get the new piece in but it will not fit,ran out of light,so tomorrow i am ganna take off the rocker arm cover to get more room.the new piece is an exact match to the one that came off.

    got it in today,had to take the vavle cover off but mission accomplished!!!!
