Hi all - to start the shop manual will be on order when I get home today.

Next - need some help determining what the factory setting should be after replacing an accelerator pump on a 1972 SBB 350 Q-jet. My rebuild kit states reference the shop manual.

Other rebuild questions I have (first timer and we'll see how much trouble I get into...) either things I found wrong during teardown or a concern I have prior to installing back on engine.

    1. Choke (divorced coil linkage shaft) seal between the lever was not in the carb during teardown. The kit had one, the books dictated it, so I put it in. I'm worried about how free moving the choke was prior to the seal and that there is a significant difference in effort (increase) to move the choke now.

    2. Float was about 2/32nds low when I measured during teardown. Adjusted to kit spec for 350 at 15/32nds... (hmmm.... 13/32nds is for 455???).

    3. (The most embarrassing question of the bunch) Choke Vacuum diaphragm (opaque plastic valve on front passenger side of carb) - should it be open to ambient, under hood pressure?

I'm wet behinds the ears on this, but so happy that I'm working on something that any mess up (aside from sending parts flying) will not deter from the entertainment value of researching :Comp:, taking apart and re-assembling.
