    Hi!

I have purchased Holley Street Avenger 0-80870 carb and with that Mr.Gasket 1932 adapter. And whit them i also bought edelbrock 9266 divided heat insulator...now because i have stock spreadbore intake manifold, i have to put adapter first, adapter second and carb for last. Is this order going to be an problem? I was wondering if divider going to be an problem? Intake has divider, adapter doesn't, heat insulator has it, so in betveen carb and intake divider has a gap.

Make sure you hood will still close with the air cleaner on when you put all that stuff together. There should be instructions in the packing materials that came with your "adapters'

Briz: I think hood clearance is ok. I must add adapter first and then heat insulator. Heat insulator instructions tell me put it first and then adapter second...this is not possible, because heat insulator have large bolt patterns and i have stock spreadbore intake. What i wanna know, is there any harm if i put it to together my way? Intake->adapter->insulator->carb and not intake->insulator->adapter->carb. I'm worried about the middle section divider...

Markus if the intake manifold is a stock as you say it has a spreadbore mounting surface. It will have two small holes for the primaries and two large holes for the secondaries. Adapting a square bore to it is not a good idea. The flow going through the carb will hit the manifold's carb mounting surface disturbing and inhibiting proper flow.
A good Qjet for that manifold would be best or an after market dual plane Edelbrock intake to accept the square bore. They are made to accept both carb patterns as the carb mounting surface is open with a divder in the middle. This would allow you to use a square bore or a Qjet. If you go this route you will need the proper intake for the year heads used.
You could open up the stock mounting surface as such and used adapter so there is a smooth transition from the carb's veturies to the intake but I've never seen it done.

Ok, my brother told me it's dualplane stock manifold? Is that possible? I have not removed carb yet to see myself. New carb is waiting installing but seems to be easier if i buy edelbrock PERFORMER BUICK 455 and then install my new holley carb...if my current intake is 4 hole intake...have remove my current carb to see... :(

Here is the difference in the manifolds. STOCK and the Edelbrock.
I would just use a Qjet myself. There is a board member that has a good reputation if you go this route. http://www.everyday-performance.com/. However I don't know if he ships outside the US.

Ray: Thanks for the pictures, i know the differences...if i remember right my brother said he had done some cuttin on intake...have to see myself first and the deside what way to go.

Is 4-hole intake only type on stock or could it be something like edelbrock intake?
