Ok, so it started with an accident where some dumb ass in a dump truck smashed up the back quarter. In the time it took for his insurance to pay, we had rain. Noticed a lake forming in my back seat floor. Decided to fix the back window. Guess what, got the glass out, found rust in the usual places where someone before me had gooped a load of silicon in the channel thinking it would help. WRONG! So, after total resto on the back window, guess what, the trunk channel looks bad too. More scraping. Well, better peak under the rug. Bad Idea. Now the seats are out, the carpet is out, the door panels are off, all the glass is out, I bought all new weatherstripping and window felts scraped my floor pans clean, removed old sealers, bought a new glove box, rebuilt the heater (top to bottom) pulled both bumpers, all lights are removed front and back, chrome is all off, I'm sanding the air cleaner, valve covers, and got new exhaust manifolds, A arm flaps, and even a new Skylark ralley steering wheel just for fun when I'm all done. If I ever finish...LOL Best leave the wheels on for a while. :beer
thats whats always scared me about the SportWagons That hit would have been a BullsEye on the Sporty tank !!! You're doing the right thing.....fixing it all to be correct. My car (the Convert.) took almost 3 years from the day i took it off the road. I did everything with ONE philosophy in mind: "Do it ONCE, Do it the BEST you can, and you'll never have to re-visit that area again" Best of luck with your project - Im sure you'll be glad you wnet to such details when your cruisin' in it....
