In my feeble attempt to hit the 12's with my car,I am doing some mods to make a reliable car but 12 second runner.I am now doing things to upgrade the tranny and was wondering it it was worth my time to buy an adjustable modulator while I am at it.So far,I am putting in a new oil filter and gasket as well as a stage 2 B&M shift kit.An oil cooler as well as a 3000 convertor will be put in a little later due to low fundage, but I am at the point of it would be just as easy to do the modulator now as compared to later.. Any comments???

see how it works without it. With a HP cam you might encounter late shifts. Since the governor controls the full throttle shifts, it will be irrelevent whenever you are in kick-down mode.

Or, you can grind the spotweld on the factory one, and then adjust it. Like you mentioned, it's a simple process to change it later if necessary.

    Pat,
The small brass ones are all adjustable, and that is your best bet. The adjustment mainly affects the minumum throttle shifts, and to a lesser degree the part throttle shifts. The stock modulators I have seen have an adjustment screw that is sealed with a white silicone. If you adjust those, remember to reseal them with RTV.

does vacum to trans really matter at the track

the question came up at the track last nite a guy was have carb problems my friend offered a holley 900 but as they were changing it it was noticed that the 900(tricked)carb did not have a vac port so the carb was not used but i dont think it would have mattered because the trans a350 (built/w ashift kit) was being manually shifted anyway am i right ///it wasnt my car and i didnt want tojump in cause i wasnt sure i was right thanks pete
