I have a question for you guys with Flint built A/C cars.

How do you get the loop clamps on to the heater hose outlets on the firewall. I bought the special wrenches for the loop clamps, but for the life of me, I cannot get the clamps on, as there just does not seem to be room to get the tool past the hood hinges, hood and fender flange.

In the interim, I have installed tower clamps. I know they are wrong, but the sure look better than the gear clamps that were on the car.

    I hate air conditioning.

Those pliers look like they are for Mubea style clamps with flat blades. I modified a pair of standard pliers for the wire type clamps. Just grind grooves 1/2 way across each half from the side. That is so the plier handles are inline with the hose.

    Hi Steve

I think you are right about the pliers. I will take an old set of gas pliers and grind some grooves.

    Thanks much.
    Cheers
