i want to do an ac conversion on my original ac car the evaporator was shot so was the compressor. i have a sanden 508 and the condenser. does anyone know what dimensions will fit for an underdash evaporator on my 72 skylark? i don't wanna take mine apart until i have something to put in.

Why? It would be easier and look better to use the factory evaporator, heater box, blower, ducts and controls and connect them to the Sanden if you have to use that compressor. If you want heat you'll have to leave all the factory under dash stuff there and then you'll have to fight all that for space with your under dash unit. The car would also be a little heavier with the redundant equipment.

the evaporator i'm talking about has the heat blower and ac all self contained and under the dash so you have a cleaner look under the hood. so all the original stuff comes out

You're right, I forgot about those. More work but it does look nice under the hood and makes #7 and #8 plugs and that back valve cover bolt a lot easier to access.
