after posting a while back about swapping my old buick 350 for a chevy 454 you have no idea how much thought went into this but i've come to the concussion that if i bought a DAMN BUICK! why would i go chevy right? so i sold that nasty 454 and now in the market for a 455 my question is do i need to swap anything out like mounts and such before i slap the bad boy in? ( 72 skylark )
Yes the frame pads and engine mounts need to be swapped out, I think TA performance still sells those. Trans cross member and driveshaft depend on what trans you're planning on using. The TH350 will bolt up behind a 455 depending on the power output may not last very long without an performance trans build. They can be built to handle the power but a factory unit was not so much. I think you made a good decision the 455 is a good engine that is around 200 lbs less than a BBC. The fuel line will be on the correct side now you won't have to change that. Is this for a race car, street/strip car or a street car? GL Derek
thanks for quick reply its going to be a street weekend car im just looking for a sub par engine with decent hp nothing to fancy even though my towns filled with Chevy's i love being different
:laugh: It's a good thing a squished head didn't make you go the other way and put a BBC in the Jag.
