The green numbers were from a rubber stamp. If someone does not post them here soon, I have an orig cleaner with them.
Thanks Engie What is the month and week build date on your X? I aasume that is the car whose cleaner you used.
Jim, The air cleaner is one I bought. My original one was repainted long ago. The build sheet is dated 4/17/1970.
I believe we have the twin to your car. I will have to look but our invoice I think is the same day. What number is your X in 678 sequence?
Jim I just talked to Duane we think it is # 457. The sheet shows 0457 04-17-1970. Wayne Roberts sheet shows my car was invoiced 05/06/70. It was the 381 th GSX produced.
Jim, How does one determine the production number of a GSX? Iv'e owned mine since '86 and never thought of where it fell in the production stage. thanks
Bill, Wayne Roberts has the microfilm for all the 70 GSX's, so if you get his info it also lists the number GSX produced. Duane
Bill What Duane says is right on the money. Wayne will list your car's number in the sequence of 678. Engie Now that I see all your dates our' s is earlier 4A on the cowl tag but invoiced in mid April.
My 12B 2nd week December ? '69 has a 7/29/69 code. My June 14/ 71 build has a 6/2/71 date code. Goes to show I guess they grab whatever is left over ? DL
Don't worry about the date code on your air cleaner. They made things like that in batches and made new ones when they ran low. My 71 was built in late march 71. My matching numbers frame was built in August of 1970! So don't sweat it.
