I went to sign into ebay to ask a seller a question and it said that my account had never been confirmed or something, and it gave me someone else's address to confirm my account. My password was correct, so it is still my account, but I have no idea how the thing got jacked enough to get to that message. Any of you hardcore ebayers have any suggestions? Thanks in advance for the advice. - Freed
how often do you use ebay? i think i had to reregister a few.. back when they redid their policies. no big deal to me. did you change emails or something?
The Ebay Paypal merger changed things. They sent out an email a while ago. You gotta re register. -Matt
freed i am no expert on ebay but just to be safe you might want to go to your my ebay page and check both the items your bidding on page and also the items your selling page. i have never got that message from ebay, but its probably a good idea to take a good look at both ( and maybe increase the number of days ) esp. on the selling page, so if someone has hi-jacked your account you can know about it right away. everyone should do this regularly. also you may want to go to the ebay miscilaneous ( sp ?) board and ask this question there also. accounts do get hi-jacked from time to time and you dont want that. hope its just one of ebay's many glitches. o No: good luck henry white 70 GS 350 70 GS 455 70 STAGE 1
This didn't happen to me, but I have a verified PayPal account...so this might be the difference in me NOT getting the weird notice.
most likely what matt just said. but when you said someone elses address it got me thining about the hi-jack thing. good luck. henry white 70 GS 350 70 GS 455 70 STAGE 1
Guess I'll re-register I have never bought/sold anything on EBay, so I'm not awfully worried about anyone dragging my good name through the mud if it was hijacked. I know that it is possible to brute-force simple passwords on websites through scripting, and maybe that's what happened since I did have a pretty simple password. It had also been awhile since I logged in, now that I think about, so they might have just closed my account due to inactivity and someone else took the name. I just wanted to find out where the seller lived so I could see the car in person. Too bad the auction is over. - Freed
