How do you tell if you have a stereo radio?? I know the chevy ones say it right on the radio but I read on this site that the stereo radios have a three prong plug on the fader???
My 68-69 AM/FM has the 3 prong plug and I was just wondering, Thanks.

I think you get the three plug when you have the fader option, but that does not necessarily mean you have "stereo". Stereo for a Buick a-body was not available until 72. Not sure if the radio said stereo on it or not, as I have never had one.

It would have a stereo light on the face. It was a rare option for 72. If your A body radio has "Buick" on the buttons it is a pre 70 radio without the stereo.

Chris is right. Late 72 only. I have about 6 of them! And Jim is right too. Red stereo light in the center of the dial but other than that they look the same. One other difference is that the fader switch has a purple colored heat sink or whatever the heck it is, compared to the mono radios which were white. And, weird as this is, they had 2 different style dial numbers fonts. I've never figured out why since this was a very late, one year only option.

If you get the time post a pix of the two different fronts, I have a 72 and may be looking into doing the stereo thing, AL.
