American Hotrod / BS BS BS

Anyone catch tonights show. Dwayne get him self a ticket so he gets some new kid fired just to be an ass. If they re winded the tape the kid offered 2-3 times to do do the work but Dwayne just gave him a ****** answer saying don't touch it. [Even though he did what Charlie told him to do.]

He responded with the same ****** answer, yes.

But Dwayne goes crying to Boyd that the kid just told me to do it myself if I want it done right.

Which was BS. he offered several time to re-do it but after he was told to not touch it. he told him that.

So Boyd already pissed off fires the kid.

Basically Dwayne and Boyd had a ****** day so they fired some poor kid for no reason.

it was crap BS. They are both the biggest asses on earth and we have solid proof.

I waited 45 mins before I posted hoping to be able to control my self but man it really made me mad. [Still made for that kid.]
That poor kid got fired for no good reason then to make two butt heads fell better.

Id fire Boyd n Dwayne first.

I'm watching it atm and they're overeacting way too much. Bluebear must have some kind of a connection to not be fired by now. He's sitting there calling the other new guy a sheep *bleep*er and they don't do anything about it yet the other new guy says one thing taken out of context and is fired almost immediately. Boyd destroying the mustang's motor at the beginning kind of sucked as well. So what if it's going to be completely rebuilt, that's what you do to little 4 bangers at an exhibition, not a classic musclecar, it just shows a lack of respect.

I think that Montanta character should start backing up his play. Don't threaten over and over, just pop that chump right in his mouth.

It's hard to mention sheep with no front teeth.

That is also messed up. I mean he is not just calling someone names but sick names and as long as the boss thinks it funny, its OK. That would never fly in the "PC" office world I left. They must not have a human resources person. [I hate them.] but they would of fired him for inappropriate work place language.

I think the show has rubbed many people the wrong way but this episode will get lots of hate mail. Id like to see a write in petition to get that kid his job back n Dwayne fired for lying about the context of the situation.

I watched the show last night and could'nt believe it!
Boyd has NO clue how to treat people in a work envirement, Bluebear would be toothless by now if worked there.
The only 2 guys I like are the Paint foreman and the ole metal work guy thats semi-retired.
That has got to be one of the worst run shops in History, the show has to be hurting Boyds reputation by now. :Dou:

PS. I'll volunteer my spare time to paint somebodys house when Boyd comes over and landscapes my yard on his day off :Smarty:

    yes.

being fired for no good reason (especially on TV) would be a potential cause for a nasty lawsuit. There's video footage of the show, and what happened...so yeah, maybe the kid really got fired, maybe he really didn't, but don't be fooled, I think. Just because Coddington is famous, that doesn't mean his show is 100% real. There's a script. I mean, if Dwayne was my boss and raised a fist at me...well, I'm 5'7", 145 lbs...

Yes I could kick Dwayne's :moonu: any day of the week, because he's a blowhard coward. But I wouldn't. I would sue Coddington for creating and condoning an abusive work environment.

It's a TV show, though, so that doesn't happen. I'm sure nobody on that show is really how they are on TV. Take Bluebear for example. That guy is probably good at something in real life. I think Charlie is pretty much like he's portraying himself on the show, but others, especially Boyd and Dwayne, are much too over the top. They are acting, just like 99% of the folks on TV.

I'd have to partially agree.... I do think that most of it is scripted and over the top on purpose... Like that Motocycle show (I can't think of its name)... But I did used to work for a fella that was exactly like that... In good mood, he was a great boss.... but if things didn't go his way (doesn't matter if it was buisness or personal, and didn't have to me a mistake on anyones part)... you'd better hide in back till it blew over, cause someone was gonna get insulted (I mean ALOT) or fired.

I guess most Bosses in small work enviorments play the cards that their employees wont (although they could) bother with lawsuits. I have no doubt that this treatment is more commonplace in reality than most think.

Althou, I do think the Boyd shop is staged. I stoped watching it a while ago... For no real reason, just isn't on my list of things to watch anymore.

I like the projects they do on the show, but I don't know if I like the attitude Boyd has towards some people, although it may be scripted he act that way. I get a kick out of the attitude sometimes, lol, that's what makes pauly jr and senior and mikey so funny :pp The fights keep me watching OCC(and the bikes too I guess) :TU:

In my opinion American Hot Rod is the most ridiculous " real shop" program on the air.

Yeah, they produce some nice cars but from what I have seen the whole place is full of d******* and idiots.

Duane has got to be the most annoying person on earth.

I think they should make Duane do a project with Paul Sr. from American Choppers and see how long he lasts before Sr. takes him apart.

Am I the only one that remembers what Boyd "the sh*t heel" Coddington did to the people that bought stock in his wheel company? :af:
His name was and should still be mud in the Car/Hotroder/Human comunity!!!
However much of an ass he is on TV, he's worse in real life :blast:

That Rustang in the barn thing was SO STAGED! Burining up the motor was stupid and immature, who does he think he is? Only Jesse James can do that and look cool.

They need to fire the big fat boy "Blue BEAR" or what ever name they have for him. And "TIG" can sue for sexual harrasment, for all the name calling and mokery from BB. ANd the metal working kid should sue too.
I would never buy a cahh from that shop after now watching the show.

I saw the episode lastnight,he shouldn't have been fired.Boyd said "I don't like smart***ses."But,if you remember when Boyd asked the whole shop about painting a house, he asked "How much everyone liked him." Charlie replied with "Depends on how much money you have in your pockets." Why didn't Boyd confront him? That place is crazy....Duane should have asked why the lip on the quarter was rolled like it was,not jump on the kid screaming that its wrong.

The show can NOT be good for business. What does a Boyd car cost? "Hand-crafted by the biggest ............................ on Earth" should be the company motto.

It's just a bunch of brain numbing scripted drivel. Ever notice how the crews
of Boyd's and OCC use the exact same tone of voice when they are speaking to the camera? Same conflicts, same last minute panics, same, same , same. :boring:

Seems like everyone has been caught hook, line and sinker. Remember guys, it's TV. Half of the stuff is staged. For all you know the kid who was "fired" still works there.
Yes, Boyd may have an artistic side but he is no manager of business and that is well proven (in real life). If it truly wasn't for his ex-wife the place would go under for a second time. If you ask me half the people that work there aren't that talented. Charlie and the old metal man have the real skill. Dwayne is nothing more than a parts chaser. Ever notice how he's always concerned about the project and missing the "deadline" because all the stuff he orders is never delivered on time by lowly suppliers he has to call over and over? And that all the missing parts by some miracle all happen to come in on the same day in one big delivery? Read in the mags about Boyd's cars and the name brands that go into it. Another company's name is never mentioned on the show. Why? Because the parts aren't late. It's all staged. The success of the latest all "aluminum" rod didn't belong to Boyd but rather to the two guys he farmed the fabrication out to. That ride was indeed hand made. Yes Boyd designed it but in the end all his shop did was throw in a crate motor, add paint and a custom set of wheels. Even his interiors are farmed out.
Quit being fooled guys. It's TV.
Just like "Overhaulin" but just the opposite. It only takes 7 days (TV days that is) to totally design, dismantle and completely transform a car with only 6 people!
At least we have TV shows about cars. That much everyone can agree on. :)
