I am posting this here instead of the junkyard jewels and parts wanted forums because it will probably get more exposure here.
I know of a little yard that has whole Buicks as well as parts. I'm sure many here would be interested in what is available.
To post the location of the yard only helps the guys in that particular area and who knows what is missed by those not close enough to access it, especially when the yard may not have a web site. Plus sometimes the finds are on private property and you can't provide the location out of respect of the owner, leaving you as the sole contact and middle man.
I have noticed that on this site, especially in the junkyard jewels forum that when someone posts a find that everyone seems to bombard them with "do they have this, or do they have that...", "do they have any other buicks, if so I'm looking for.." or if someone asks for a part then there is the "if so an so doesn't want it put me next in line", or "I sent you a PM" and so on and so on. Maby times the poster has to make multiple trips back to the location after everyone does this. Regardless of the size of the find it becomes vey difficult to track all of this. If I find a part I can always go to the parts wanted section but then I have to search past postings to try to find who wants what.
Here is my idea and I'm not sure how it can be carried out but there are web experts here that can provide the guidance. What I would like to see is some sort of master database/listing that would allow anyone to post the following:
    E-mail address
    State
    Area code
    Year of model
    Specific part wanted
    Part color
    Status
Folks wouldn't have to provide personal information.
It would then be easy for guys like me, once a find is made to refer to the list and e-mail folks looking for the specific parts. Once the person has located his part, that person updates the status as found or deletes the entry.
My goal is to see everyone not spinning their wheels. Time is valuable to all of us and we should make it as easy as possible to help each other out.
    What do you think?

I think a "parts network database" is a fantastic idea.

I think Smartin would be VERY interested in it, seeing as though he's got a domain of parts vendors relating to buicks.

Hmm. Interesting idea. I like it.

It also brings the idea of "bulletin boards" full circle back to the roots, lol.

I love it! I just recently started running down junkyard parts for folks, and it can be a real headache trying to keep track of who wanted what, especially when I come across a new find.

Oughta be able to build a webpage form that dumps into an Excel speadsheet that could be downloaded/printed. Lemme ask my local guru...

This is what I have in my parts directory, although it's as far as I've gone collecting yard info.

The Buick Parts Directory, Centurion Registry, Gateway BCA, and Buick Performance Group...

I'm tapped out on websites to keep up! James, this sounds like a good idea for Mr. 1200:Brow:

I'd do it but between two jobs, a website, and a programming contract... life is a bit busy for me.
