Chris I used a concrete dye powder on the concrete just as it was being troweled in so the color is only on the very top layer. Then I applied 5 coats of concrete cure and seal with a paint roller. After all the construction work is done I'll put the gloss finish coats on. It's gotten pretty scuffed up with all the work going on in there but should clean up rather nicely. The barn is 60' X 72'. I needed a place for Rusty and Benoit to park their rigs when they stop over. :Do No:

Tom the shop is in Philo, just up the tracks from you. My mom taught at Sidney grade school for over 20 years back in the 60s and 70s. If youre ever driving by stop in and introduce yourself if Im around. You should recognize it.

I don't know if you know Charlie and Marsha Smith or not, but years ago I played football and went to school at U of I, and brought an old Buick GS with me from home. To make a long story short, there was another guy on the team that was from Champaign by the name of Jim Miller who was into cars and had a Z/28. I told him I wanted to build a 455 for my GS and he drove me over to Charlie's (aka Crazy Charlie) house. He ended up building me a 455 and I raced it at Coles County and Assumption. Their home became my home away from home, and after school and football practice, I would end up at their house to watch them work on their Camaro or end up street racing out on Staley road. Lots of good memories with them and in Champaign. I stopped to see them last spring when they had the Mike White reunion at school.....then went over to Phil Cooper's place.....same old Charlie. Great job on the shop!

    Perry,
Thank you for the reply. Do I know Charlie??!! If you're into drag cars and you live anywhere near Philo you've just got to know him don't you think!!! He and I go a ways back. The man just has a heart of gold and he can move a 4 speed down the track as well as anyone there ever was. Marsha's a sweetheart too isn't she? She's no slouch on the track either. Quite the pair. If you ever get back this way stop in and introduce yourself.

Yes, I did. I drove by after working out at the gym in Philo a few nights ago. No lights on. I'll drop by sometime.
