Why would a car with 4,100 miles on it need to be restored?

Nice Car

Looks like a VERY nice car,the door panels are easily changed,if the car was originally from texas it might have been rustless when they restored it,nothin like ORIGINAL TIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder about that interior--Cloth +leather steering wheel options aren't listed in my 1969 dealer options sheet.Hey ,wait a minute I think I understand why he want's to sell it "A priest in a 69" just doesn't sound quite right does it? :laugh: :laugh: Should be some sort of penance for that!:spank:

 

I can top that- I went to look at a 71 GS 350 4 SPEED Ragtop back in 1991 that was still owned by the original owner-a minister. Said he always drove a stick shift but was embarassed that the car came with a Hurst shifter! It had those ugly pie plate hubcaps on it..

Padre's Faith

This auction reminds me of the priest at my high school. He has raced Pontiacs ince the mid 60's. He would take kids with him to local drag strips and let us get involved with the car. A fairly unique circumstance which I feel very fortunate to be part of.

The last time I saw him, he had a 73-74 455 SD 4spd Formula still sitting idle in the rectory garage. The car couldn't have had more than 60K miles.

I recently ran into him at Union Grove Dragway sheparding a group of kids around the pits. A really good guy.:TU:

 

I remember the description before so it must be a re-list,the difference is he threw in photo's of the priest this time for impact.

 

No- "Plastic Jesus" was written by somebody named "Cromarty", and no first name is listed anywhere that I could find. The Flaming Lips did a version on "Transmissions from the Satellite Heart" about 10 years ago. It's a great album. Bob Dylan could have done a version of the song, but I've never heard a recording of him doing it.

I asked the seller what he meant by "restored", he told me the engine,tranny,rear,interior,paint everything.has been rebuilt.
He said the owner ,his preacher, has spent over $18,000 restoring it:Smarty:
