Thanks to me, and the local law ordinances, and another Buick guy like me!:TU:

Brief explanation: I bought another '70 GS last Fall, had it about 1 week, neighbors "complained" to cops, cops hassled me to Move it or they would Fine me, DAILY, as long as it sat in MY yard!
According to them, since it's not "registered with current license plates, AND have a Wheel Tax sticker registration, the vehicle is considered ABANDONED!", EVEN THOUGH I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR 1 WEEK AGO, AND HADN'T EVEN HAD TIME TO CHANGE THE REGISTRATION! They gave me "5 days" to MOVE it, with no excuses!:af: I DID! I "GAVE" IT AWAY!:moonu:

I said "F... the Neighbors, and the Cops, and the FINES" (normally, I don't swear, but some people deserve it when they continue to IRRITATE a person who doesn't even BOTHER with anyone else! My car hobby/collection doesn't hurt anyone! THAT's what makes me MAD!:af: ), and I GAVE THE CAR AWAY, to "some guy I just happened to meet", that owned a '70 Skylark 4 door, just like MINE!:bglasses:

He lives in a different city, about 15 minutes away from me, where the laws don't affect car owners, like they do in MY town.

Anyway, History of the Car: 1 owner '70 GS350. Owner (lady)died about 8 years ago. Husband didn't know what to do with the car, so he "disassembled" it, to "restore" it.:Dou: When he got it taken apart, all the way down to the BODY and FRAME (stripped original paint completely, gutted interior completely, left driveline alone), and figured he didn't know how to Put it BACK TOGETHER, he SOLD IT, to another guy who didn't even WANT it. I bought it from THAT guy, CHEAP, because he didn't even know what it was (along with a trunkload of NOS parts! SCORE!:bglasses: :beer )

Since I gave the car away, the new owner has already COMPLETELY restored the Interior (there was NOTHING there, as I got it, and as HE got it from me). New Seats! New Carpet! New Dashpad! New Gauge bezel! New Steering Column! New Door Panels! NEW EVERYTHING!

The coolest part, is that we spent all day Wednesday going through parts in my garage, and I gave him Boxes of parts that he can use on that car (and the other 2 that he owns, too!), and "WE" are getting it close to being DRIVEABLE again!

That car, I was told by the Previous owner, SAT for "6 YEARS" without being started or moved!

Are you ready? I got a call today, and he said he put a BATTERY in it, and checked all the fluids, and primed it with some gas in the carb, got IN the car, pumped the gas, and IT STARTED RIGHT UP!:bglasses: He said "It doesn't Smoke, or Leak, or anything! It has a LOT of POWER, though!:eek2: ).

I told him it SHOULD have a LOT of POWER, it IS a TRUE GS!:TU::bglasses:

I have an "agreement" with the current owner, that if the car gets "restored", by US, then the car will STAY BETWEEN US!:TU:
If he decides that it's "Too Much Power", then I will get it back from him!:bglasses: Considering that he has "unlimited resources" by using MY parts to put the car back together, I think I should have first option to own it again.:Do No:

So, technically, I've temporarily BYPASSED the law, until I get MY CAR back!:moonu::af::Smarty::TU:

Excellent Scott!!! By saving a GS that sounds like it could have very easily ended up becoming a parts car you are keeping the Buick musclecar legacy alive. Getting around your dumbs-- neigbors is also a plus. :) Good job!!!
