well, I got a Buick 455 for a new project, but if you don't mind, I have a few questions: 1) what is the stock HP and Torque of a 1972 Buick Riviera w/ a 455? 2)Is there a chart or something that has a list of the HP and torques of different makes and modesl of Buicks? 3) What are the best solutions to oiling problems in the Buick455? 4) what are the best *simple* power increases in the engien? Thanks.
1 -- 270 hp and 390 torque SAE not gross like 71-72. 2---yes check Dove's book 3---read the tech tips at www.trishieldperf.com and www.buickperformance.com. Send the timing cover out for mods or buy a new one from TA. 4---recurve the distrib.; perhaps shorty headers; carb rebuild. (There will be many other opinions)
