I recently bought a year one core support bushing kit for my 70 skylark then soon located a nos set. seems to be a big and noticeable difference between the two. Nos is on the right.
In this first pic you can see the height difference and the different size of the "cups"

With bolts, nos bolts are also longer and different shaped.

This is probably why i had to shim the heck out of my core support when i replaced all my body mounts huh? It looks like there is 3/16 difference in the bushing height.

Lets see the parts without the cups side to side for height . The height should be the same that way . If not then you have to shim the bushing up or you will never get the door edge gaps right . I would expect the difference in the caps is the major difference . Seems to me if someone has the NOS parets then accurate repos can be made . Did you just win these on ebay ? I saw the two bolts went for alomost 100.00 . Seems like a bunch for a unseen part .

yes, HUGE difference betwen NOS body mounts and aftermarket. Lots of other info on my webpage. On the bolts, AMK products sells bolts that are identical to the factory items, nowhere near that price!!

Steele rubber sells the lower insulators now and they are almost identical to factory (execpt for vertical ribs originals had). Upper mounts are still unavailable except as part of a kit, and the repro kits are not great IMHO.

Tim do you know the part # for GM? I tried ordering just the mounts and they said it was discontinued? Also I always do not like to give them credit but Cars sells the bigger style mounts seperatley and they also may be usable in other areas of the body. I put them in my spport and they seem to work good without shims. The cushions are also close maybe they get them from Steele.

    Info here:

Do a search online for them, some places still have them...there was a dealer inventory search out there that showed up a few a while ago but I don't remember the URL...

Its too bad someone doesn't show more interest in making correct reproductions although some kits are certainly better than others. One of the chevelle places online had a really nice body mount kit, correct style bolts and all....do a search on the board, the info is here somewhere....I think it was www.ss396.com

EDIT: Hope link works, kit looks not bad:

Don't forget you need the convertible kit as Buick used mounts in the #1 position on all cars, whereas chevy only used them on ragtops. I also replaced the #4 with a bolt in mount, so you would need to find a couple extra for that as well.
