That dipstick may be identical to what originally came with the cars -- I don't know.

But I'm always amused at how people will get all excited about "NOS" parts which were manufactured 10 - 20 years later and whose design or appearance has changed. Just because it's "NOS" doesn't mean it's "correct" if you're trying to do a perfect restoration. I'd rather put good, used parts on my car any day rather than NOS.

I hope it rots in the possesion of the current owner. Sorry but this kind of stuff angers me :af: Maybe the guy who paid (was it $1.2 million) for the LS6 at Barret Jackson will buy it.

Yep.....and at least the wiper motor guy started at $1.00 and let the market dictate where it will go.

Not starting out at $450 for a dipstick :Dou:

It reminds me of a guy I have bought many NOS Mercury parts from.

He was very reasonable.......until he got Ebay greedy.

Instead of letting the market dictate...he now has pretty steep starting bids.

Now 50% of his stuff ends without bids.

71 W30 qet just sold for $2750,70 W30 distributor sold for $1200,and they still needed rebuilt and restored. :eek2:

when sellers see this, they automatically think they can get the same amount, but if there are only 5 or 6 guys willing to pay that much, and they already have one.it's back to reality..
