    Bobbar,
    When I lived in Richmond, Leon's, Philbates and one other (now closed) in Montpieler, Va, were on my "route". Also there were a couple in Richmond(on Route 1) that closed a number of years ago. One was called Flipo's, but Mr Flipo died and his daughter scrapped the whole yard. I'm worried that George Philbates jr. will do the same thing. He's in his early 60's and wants to quit. :Do No:
    I now live in Fla and have only LKQ and a few other "Pick-A-Part" yards. I miss the old ones. But, I now live vicariously through George N. & Ted. lol :laugh:

    Jeff, there is a place near Gainsville called Old Gold Cars

    Ive bought several parts from them and pleased every time.
    Sight unseen I bought a set of dog legs for my dads Oldsmobile and they shipped them to Orlando to me. I had sent them a picture outlining where I wanted the cuts, and they did a fantastic job. He must have one big saw, the cuts were straight and nice.

    They no longer allow you to walk around the yard, but several years ago I made the trip there and the guy let me wander around by myself.

    There are 1000's upon 1000's of cars.

    The website says they do yard tours, it may be worth it.

    Hey Jeff;
    Last March when I was at Leons he had crushed some of his cars since I was there in 2005. But still a good bit left.
    I don't think any of the kids are going to continue operating Philbates so you know what that means. If he didn't want so much for the land I would look into it more.:shock:
    I have a line on a yard in Ruckersville so I'm going there tomorrow. I'll let you know how it is.

    Bob
